Melissa Araujo

Chef Melissa Araujo has cooked all over the world including New Orleans, Guadalajara and Milan. Locally, Chef Melissa has cooked at Susan Spicer’s Mondo, Doris Metropolitan and Restaurant R'evolution. Prior to that, Chef Melissa was Head Chef at Milan’s Vitsana for five years reflective of her Sicilian roots. Araujo launched her Certified Louisiana Farm to Table catering company, Saveur Catering (www.saveurcatering.com) in 2013 and most recently introduced the pop-up Alma (www.almanola.com), featuring the food of her native Honduras.

Chef Melissa has prepared a unique story of her own for Look Don’t Tell — an elegant six course meal with wine and cocktail pairings by Chelsea Gober of Swirl Wine Bar & Market. Chef Melissa was inspired by the life of the Baroness Pontalba to select ingredients reflective of the time period, as well as the influence of both the Spanish and French then occupying New Orleans in the late 1700s.
