Look Don’t Tell’s previous chefs, Kristen Essig and Melissa Araujo, were featured this year in as two of the ten “Female Chefs To Know in New Orleans” in 2019.  Belles Fetes Productions is honored to have worked with these talented chefs and entrepreneurs.  Our curators are excited to announce the team who will design the meal and elixirs for this Fall soon!



Melissa Araujo

Last year, Chef Melissa Araujo of Saveur Catering prepared an elegant six course meal tailored to each individual’s protein preference and dietary requirements.  Chef Melissa’s menu consisted of Louisiana farm to table ingredients and her courses reflected the Spanish and French influence in New Orleans during the 1800s. Each course was skillfully paired with a wine or cocktail selected and designed by wine expert Chelsea Gober of Lilette.  Chelsea’s talent also shone bright through her selection of top quality aperitifs and digestifs enjoyed throughout the evening, in addition to delicious mocktails for those who desired this option.

Look Don’t Tell’s debut year featured the unmatched talent of Kristen Essig nominated as “The People’s Best New Chef” in Food & Wine Magazine in 2015.  Kristen trailblazed the concept of a 19th century feast for our participants.  The six courses for the intimate party were served alongside exceptional pairings for an unforgettable dining experience.  Kristen is currently co-chef and partner at Coquette, included in Brett Anderson’s 2019 list of top ten restaurants in New Orleans.  This Summer, Kristen is also opening Thalia Restaurant in the Lower Garden District.
